How to Explore Denver’s Hippest Hoods
This is an excerpt from the original article.
From the airport, hop on the A-Line Train and make your way to Union Station. Your adventure begins in LoDo, or Lower Downtown. About a 2-minute walk from the tracks is Kimpton Hotel Born, a swanky urban refuge with Bavarian-inspired materials, concrete ceilings and gorgeous rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows. Enjoy delightful chilaquiles, Dutch baby pancakes and smoked pork belly frittatas at Citizen Rail. Top it off with a fresh-pressed juice, and you’re ready to tackle the day.
After some yoga in your room (mats are provided) and a bike ride over to Confluence Park (Hotel Born’s loaner bikes are yours for the taking), peruse the hotel’s own original art collection of nearly 700 pieces by local artists.
Next, pick up a quick snack at the Milk Market, a rad mix of venues located on the historic Dairy Block. Dine on fresh Hawaiian sushi, pizza by the slice, or veggie burgers. A quick walk away is Elixir Mind Body Massage where a deep-tissue treatment and a facial will have you on cloud nine. Or try facial reflexology and a bio-slimming wrap. Now you’re ready for the Museum of Contemporary Art, just a few blocks from the hotel.
End the day at Tarvernetta, an impressive Italian restaurant led by a James Beard Award winning team. If the weather’s nice, sit on the patio to watch the trains roll up while you nosh on handmade gnocchi and fresh made ciabatta bread.
